Other definitions relating to abnormality:

Deviation from Social Norms defines the departure or deviation of an individual, from society's unwritten rules (norms). For example if one was to witness a man jumping around, nude, on the streets, the man would be perceived as abnormal, as he has broken society's norms about wearing clothing, not to mention ones self dignity. There are also a number of criteria for one to examine before reaching a judgment as to whether someone has deviated from society's norms. The first of these criterion being culture; what may be seen as normal in one culture, may be seen as abnormal in another. The second criterion being the situation & context one is placed in; for example going to the toilet is a normal human act, but going in the middle of a supermarket would be seen as highly abnormal. The third criterion is age; a child at the age of three could get away with taking off its clothing in public, but not a man at the age of twenty. The fourth criterion is gender. The fifth criterion is historical context; standards of normal behavior change in some societies, sometimes very rapidly.

I've always thought of Blogging as a complete waste of time. I have better things to be doing rather than hacking away on a computer and doing a sort-of on-line diary and trying to sound all high-and-mighty in the blogosphere like every other blogger.

However, in looking at a ton of artist portfolios, I'm realizing that it might be critical to whatever career I'm trying to forge here.

Career-- HA. Whatever! I just want to have the time to paint what I want. Not what someone else dictates (although at this point in time, being unemployed at the moment, even that sounds good).

So, where was I? Yes-- so i might have to blog if anything just to hopefully get someone to see the weird shit and ideas that seem to be pukeing themselves up from somewhere. Everyone is on-line and screaming "LOOK AT ME! LOOK HOW WONDERFUL I AM! LOOK AT MY SHITTY DRAWINGS!"

Maybe I'm just another crappy artist too. But I'm sick of sitting around and not saying anything or even trying. So let it begin.
